On Mondays

I know, I know what you're probably thinking. She doesn't normally post about Mondays? But seeing as July saw me quite absent from the blog, I thought we might as well shake things up a bit! 

A lot has happened. 

July saw me move back home, watch the boyf graduate, graduate myself as well as fill my days with anything at all. I have read numerous books. Cleared through old magazines like there is no tomorrow. Celebrated birthdays. Eaten way too much food. Met new people. Organised my beauty collection (I do not need anything.)
Now we are over a week into August (already!) and here is a Sunday-meets-Monday post for you, filled with the things that I've been loving lately.

I (finally!) bought this plate and the matching cup from H&M.

I am absolutely loving Bear's Den and Blossoms music wise.

I am currently in a phase of trying to make bendy rollers a thing.

Mac Velvet Teddy. Enough said.

These M&S glasses are my new favourites.

After seeing the poster at tube stations, I've just watched the trailer for Wiener-Dog; definitely on my must-see list!

I recently acquired a Jack Wills rucksack; their bags are so en pointe.

It's the Olympics! I'm finding Google the best way to keep up with it all.

I am really appreciating having started my One Line a Day Diary last year; reading back what I was doing is really really nice.

This Boots Time Delay moisturiser is my new favourite.

If I wore glasses, I would definitely buy this Paperchase case.

It took me a half hour at least to unsubscribe from Apple Music; unsubscribe today from everything you're accidentally paying for!

The Garnier Ultimate Blends Collection have been the cause of me receiving a fair few comments on the condition of my hair lately; the Honey Restorer is the way to go!

On Sundays

Happy Sunday! This is my final Sunday of working and I'm really trying to power through. On Friday I will have finished my degree! We (read: boyf, whilst I lay in bed trying to revise) are barbequing today and the pork smells so good; I can't wait! 

This article on How Not To Be Alone was really interesting.

I am just about to finish watching Marcella. Did anyone else watch?!

On The Drawing Board

Last Friday, the boyf finished his exams so we went our for some celebratory bevs. We then ended up heading the The Drawing Board for dinner. Completely unplanned by us, we gatecrashed the friends we were with and ended up having a really nice time! 

We all went for the above burger (boyf and I added bacon,of course!) which came with fries and beef and onion dripping sauce. It was all incredible! 

When I asked for Mayo this was what they brought me; how cute is it! 

As you can imagine, being called The Drawing Board, the place is full of cartoon strips, comic books and cool memorabilia. Yes those are Star Wars and Spiderman cushions. The place was done up to feel really homely, with a bar downstairs and a beer garden. 

Despite not having fully planned our trip here, it was a really nice night! They also have a humungous beverage lists; spirits, wines and beers galore. It took us ages just to decide what we were having. (Though some were a little on the pricey side). The food was amazing and the staff were all lovely as well. This place was fairly quiet for a Friday night so I would stop by before the crowds catch on! 

If you're in Leamington, I would definitely recommend!

On Sundays

It was one of my best friend's birthdays on Friday and so we headed on out to Meatcure for dinner. The above was my burger, the New York New York and my word was it good. Chicken, pickle, sourkraut, mustard, pastrami, brioche; so good. Just looking back at that photo is making me hungry!

So my weekend definitely got off to a good start! We are going to watch Captain America: Civil War tonight. I am yet to have seen any of this Marvel franchise at the cinema before so I am excited! The boyf and I also got some really good looking burgers (again I know; don't judge) for dinner tonight which I cannot wait for!

How is it May already?! Let's remind ourselves of April.

On Mashed Suedes

Sometimes it's nice to just get away from everything for a little bit. 

Especially when there's good food and good company involved. 

Mashed Suedes is a really cute little cafe in north Leamington that we discovered a few weeks back. Their Full English is soso good; and the fried bread. Oh the friend bread! The staff are all really lovely in there and it is so tiny that it is always completely full. It has local art works all over the walls and is just so cute.

The mlkshakes also are so good. And how nice do they look?! Just the milk bottle itself is enough to make me want one, but then they taste so good as well. 

The weather finally looked up this weekend, and it seemed asif Winter might actually be done. The sun was out and I didn't need to wear my big coat. There is only one week left of term, and both of us had been feeling the remnants of the flu/cold for the past week so this was definitely something that we needed. 

Sometimes it's nice to jsut get awat from everything for a little bit.

Leave the work until the afternoon. Leave the reading until later. Leave the laptops behind.

Take pleasure instead from those around you and what's around you.

Easy Like Sunday Blogging - Spring Break Edition!

The week before last was Spring Break for us Badgers and one my flatmates and I roadtripped around! I have now been to a total of 13 states; only hoping to extend that even more! If you follow me on instagram or twitter then you may have already seen some of my adventures!

We went through Minnesota, to South Dakota and saw Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse and the Badlands, went down through Wyoming (never again) to Colorado and stayed in Denver for a few days. We climbed around the Flatirons. Then went throuugh Nebraska and Iowa and spent Easter in Naperville, Illinois and then Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

I saw so much! So here are just some great photos from that week!

Real Life Frozen

Just keep in mind while scrolling... all of these were taken on a frozen lake; that is not land!

So...yesterday we walked across the FROZEN LAKE Mendota to Picnic Point! It was truly one of the most nerve-wracking, but amazing experiences of my life. We walked across ice!!! Frozen water!!! We made snow angels on it!! 

I have never before seen anything, or done anything like this before. And I'm so glad to have had my friends there with me goading me on!

Dinner for Breakfast

When one of your flatmates suggests going to a place on State Street that serves dinner for breakfast, obviously my answer was going to be yes!!! 

So this is where we went on Friday night, to Short Stack Eats. And it was soooo good. The place had a lovely atmosphere, as the tables were all decorated with old postcards and letters which was a really lovely touch. Your sign to show you had ordered was also the bent number plate which was an unusual feature and something I've never seen before. (I say that like I'm some big restraunteur...or something...haha I'm not.) 

One of their most unique features is that they do a 'Blind Special' in which you don't ask what it is or even have any idea what it is, but you pay half price and just await your food! Deja and David braved their dish...and got chocolate and banana pancakes. Not too shabby! I was tempted however the possibility that it might have been 'Biscuit with Gravy' was just too risky. 

Angoli and I went with sourdough French Toast. It came with heavenly mascarpone. The whole thing was sososo good; despite the fact I gave all my berries away. It was so yummy! It was also such a lovely night out :)

As a cheeky little bonus and sneak peek of the rest of the night, here is a photo of me loving life at a frat house...

The frat life is definitely for me!

Circus Stuff on State Street

So just a side note, clowns are my absolute worst fear, and the circus is pretty much my worst ever nightmare. However, when my good friend Hannah and I were walking down State Street last night we came across these couple of circus wagons. As I had my camero on me, (as a good blogger always does!), I thought I might as well take a couple of photos of these as they were only there for a day. 

We then found in the Overture Centre that it is the '10 Fest' of the Overture itself, hence they have a lot of circus and acrobat events going on. Including also housing past circus outfits, sketches and some original carousel horses. One of which is even a century old this year and has been fully restored!

So, as I said to Hannah, despite being kind of creeped out slightly by all of this stuff, I thought that as a blogger, somebody somewhere would find this really interesting, and it's just not something you see everyday! 

So I am glad I have documented it, despite finding it all quite uncomfortable! But then, isn't that life; stepping out of your comfort zone?
