On Iced Coffee

I think I might have perfected at-home Iced Coffee. Using Mother's trial method, I have upped the game ever so slightly, and I am telling you, these are just what you need in this weird September heat we are having here. Not to mention they are so easy!

Here's how you can make yours!

Coffee - Use about three teaspoons of coffee and and with boiling water make a tinytiny amount. By tiny amount I mean half espresso size. It needs to be really strong!

Cold Water - If your cold water tap is anything like mine, have it running for a little bit about now just to make sure it's cold; you want it cold!

Milk - Pour in a lot of milk. Almost fill the glass with it.

Cold Water - Now top up with the aforementioned coldcold water.

Ice - Add in some ice cubes (ours are Storm Troopers, just sayin')

Flavour (Optional) - I sometimes add in some caramel syrup just for that extra touch, but these are good without as well!

And boom diggidy you have the perfect iced coffee all crafted by your owns hands! The key thing to remember is make it strong!

Hope you enjoy!

On Barbeques

Beer Can Chicken. BEER CAN CHICKEN!!!

Boyf and his family are really big into bbqs. Now I am going to preface this with the fact that I had never really had proper bbqs, thus my opinion of them was pretty narrow minded. All I had ever really had were sausages and burgers cooked at parties. Not proper meals just your typical British trying to be outdoors despite the weather bbq nibbles.

Boyf mentioned early on that he is a big bbq fan and I thought oh...hmm. (He may also have mentioned that we would have some issues if I wasn't :') ) But now I can happily announce that I am a fully fledged barbeque convert. BBQ steaks, bbq paella, bbq spatchcock chickens, BBQ BEER CAN CHICKEN (DID EVERYONE ELSE KNOW THIS WAS A THING!?). I want it all!
Roast Sunday dinner with bbq lamb? Yes please.
Lamb Kofta with halloumi? Yes, three please.
They make everything, meat, vegetables, cheese, just taste so good. Not to mention the, of course, smokey flavour that they add to everything. They are definitely a way to spice up your meals if you feel like everything has become a bit meh.

I feel like I was the only one not on the barbeque bandwagon, so my attempts to convert anyone else will be futile as I was the one in the minority. Now if only my parents could get onto the barbeque deliciousness...

Are you a barbeque fan?

On Sundays

Happy Sunday! This is my final Sunday of working and I'm really trying to power through. On Friday I will have finished my degree! We (read: boyf, whilst I lay in bed trying to revise) are barbequing today and the pork smells so good; I can't wait!

This article on How Not To Be Alone was really interesting.

I am just about to finish watching Marcella. Did anyone else watch?!

This hamster video brought me so much happiness.

I also loved this video. So cute!

Even after Friends, Jennifer Aniston still looks good all the time.

Speaking of which, this guy spent a year looking for the real Ugly Naked Guy!

I'm really considering ordering an Erin Condren Life Planner...

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

On My Summer Beauty Wishlist

What with Summer slowly, slowly inching closer, I have been seeing a whole host of new beauty releases that I have been adding to my mental wishlist. With today as my deadline day (2 essays down, 1 Dissertation down!), I thought a great way to celeberate would be to compile all of these into one list for you!
Just choosing which to actually buy (first...) is the next question...

Summer Beauty Wishlist

Summer Beauty Wishlist by superkarina5

1. Everybody loves the Nars cult classic Orgasm. And this summer they are releasing a giant version of it! Available in their Covent Garden store from June (and online) I cannot wait for this to be released, especially with it's new detailing and packaging!

2. Mac's current summer-esque collection is Vibe Tribe; the packaging is quite a bit different from the standard black and of the products focus on brightening your look. I love this Glam Tones Powder in Dunes at Dusk. The colours are so pretty!

3. This Narsissit Cheek Studio looks incredible. I just want to play with it.

4. It isn't news that Benefit are re-launching their Brow range. With all new packaging I cannot wait until these aer released 24th June! Gimme Brow has always been on my wishlist but even more so now with the new packaging.

5. Brow Zings will soon come in way more shade colours! Really just another reason to buy it!

6. The Goof Proof Eye Brow Pencil, (complete with spoolie) will also come in a wide range of colours and this I really cannot wait to try.

7. The Cheekathon Palette. Less than £45 and all you could ever ask for from Benefit in terms of cheeks.

I realise this was essentially a list for cheeks and brows...clearly I have my priorities set!

Surviving Hayfever

I am currently taking sanctitude in my bed after venturing outside resulting in me feeling like I just laid down in a field; hayfever is hitting once again, and this year it's even harder than before.
I've suffered with hayfever since I was about 13 or so and prior to then I was one of those people that mocked those that couldn't sit on the grass at lunch time because their eyes were too itchy. Getting hayfever was definitely karma; all of those non-sufferers, beware!

So many people I know have been struggling with hayfever, and for us students, doing exams and revision with hayfever is another level of awful. Here some of the tips that I've recently been seeing and will definitely be trying out!

  • Tablets - Antihistamines can really work wonders; they might not get rid of the symptoms completely, but they will definitely keep them at bay. I actually get mine from the 99p shop; they may not be Piriton but they definitely work!
  • Vaseline - Applying vaseline around your nostrils prevents pollen and allergens from actually entering your system thus preventing the annoyance of a stuffy nose. I am currently sitting here with a Rose-vaseline tinted nose (as depsite having minimum of 5 vaselines, I could only find 2 rose ones...)
  • Showers - Taking very regular showers, such as morning and evening everyday cleanses your skin by removing any allergens that may have gotten attracted to you.
  • Steam - Very common symptons of hayfever, mine definitely, are that of a Summer cold. Completely congested and stuffy, blocked nose, headache, itchy throat, the whole lot. By putting you head over a bowl of hot water with a towel around your head the steam can help to ease any congestion.
  • Be Smart - If grass or flowers really set your hayfever off, don't go near them! Try and stay to more paved areas if you go outside, or if your hayfever is really bad, avoid going outside. (Not saying become a hermit, but I definitely am one anyway!) Cats and other animals can also offset hayfever due to being similar allergens so be mindful of animals (this one I just can't do; I love my cats too much).
I hope that these help you with your hayfever, and with mine! Please let me know of any other ways you have found to keep the horrendousness at bay!

Ted Baker S/S14 - Can We All Just Marvel For A Minute?

Not to mention the bags...oh the bags!

The beautiful and elegant pastels colours, mixed with the classy and simple more dark colours has made for such a charming spring line. This suits so well to the Spring season with the blossoming flower patterns and the brighter colours. This is just what we need to bring us out of the Winter blues!

What are your favourite pieces?
