On The Met Gala 2016

Every year the Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts 'The Met Gala'; an annual fundraising event for the Costume Institute. Every year this means that on the first Monday of May we see dozens of glamorous red-carpet looks, all under one theme. This years theme was 'Manus x Machina: Fashion in the Age of Technology'; a theme that focused upon the ever growing debate as to whether Fashion counts as Art.
This year however, I just feel a bit underwhelmed by the fashion. The make up saw some great looks but some of the fashion was just a bit too much or a little weird. Don't get me wrong; there were some gorgeous looks. Adriana Lima for one. Maybe my hopes were just too high this year!
Check out some of the looks below.

In Erdem.
In Cindy Chao The Art Jewel Earrings

Easy Like Sunday Blogging

Easy Like Sunday Blogging

Easy Like Sunday Blogging by superkarina5 featuring halloween pumpkin lanterns

I cannot believe that it's already November! October literally flew by; it really isn't long until Christmas now, or until I'll be homehome!

- I really feel that I have upped my video game this week! I was really happy with my Autumn Hair Styles video; especialy with the fact that I have made myself an end screen! I know for some of you this won't be interesting or exciting but it really was for me! I am so proud of what I am doing on youtube; and I don't care how sad that sounds.

- My first Halloween in the States was really something! We went out for actual Halloween night and then for Freakfest last night. I have vlogged the whole experience here. It was a lot of fun with some really great friends and I'm actually quite sad it's over!

- 1989. Need I say more really?

- I'm really happy with my artwork at the moment. I still have a second painting video to edit and upload, but it's my third one that I'm really excited about. I am really liking how it's looking right now and am really excited for it to not only be finished, but for all of you to see!

- Mother booked my flights home this week! I always knew that I'd be going homehome for Christmas, but having the flights actually booked is a really nice and comforting thought. I don't want to wish my time away here at all, but I can't wait to go home!

I hope you have all had lovely weeks and a grea Halloween! I hope that your first week of November is also great!

Taylor Swift - 1989

Taylor's 5th album finally came out today! 1989 is her first official pop album...and with that having said it is good for what it is. But it is a very different style and a very different Taylor that you hear.
But as a whole the album is pretty damn great; I currently have it on repeat and will probably continue to do so.

I was very concerned for whether or not I would like it. I wasn't a fan of Welcome to New York and so I had a lot of scepticism for this album...but Taylor has once again delivered.

If you're a fan of Shake It Off, 1989 has sooo much more to offer. I'm not going to do a full review; I don't feel that's my place to do that, but it has a thumbs up from me!

The album comes with 13 polaroids with lyrics that Taylor has written on (obviously these are copies, but they're still pretty cool!) You can also make your own version of the cover which as you can see...I had to do :')

I definitely recommend a cheeky listen, even if you're not a hardcore fan!

Have you listened to 1989?

So another week has flown by and we are nearly at the end of October! Somebody said the other day that it's only 9 Fridays until Christmas; madness!!

  • This week has been Homecoming; this is something which we don't have back in the UK and the excitement for it is something that is a little bit overwhelming! Wisconsin thrashed Maryland at the game though (!!) aaaand Deja and I went to the parade which was a lot of fun! I also vlogged that day...stay tuned!

  • I have been loving fishtail plaits recently. I have finally mastered doing them! It is all in the thin strands; previously I had been using far too big strands resulting in just odd looking normal plaits. Now I just need to perfect them.

  • So have you seen my new video yet? It's my Autumn Make Up Routine and I'm really happy with it. It's my first video where I've tried not only a different thing, but also different filming and technical apects. Please go and watch it, like and subscribe as well! It would mean so much to me!

  • Speaking of youtube...so youtube is currently not working properly for me. Which is a complete pain. Basically, any video which I have never watched before just does not load. Apparently this is a common problem at the moment and dates back to February and is stll unresolved. A large chunk of my life revolves around youtube so if anyone has any ideas of how to solve this, please share!!!

  • Tonight we watched Hocus Pocus. I had never seen it before; seeing as Halloween is muchmuch bigger over here than back home, it was really nice to take part in a kind of tradition. Watching really bad children's films with hot chocolate!

I hope you have all had wonderful weeks and are getting your Halloween costumes ready! I'm thinking of going as my girl Taylor...more on her NEW ALBUM tomorrow!

A Day In The Life #4 | Taylor Swift at the O2!

Copyright @TheKazlightAnthem

That's right my friends. One of the best nights of my life ever happened. Genuinely cried too many times count. I went with Lucy and at the end she said to me that she thought I had actually died or become paralysed at one point.
Now, Taylor is already the love of my life, and I believe that she is sent from the Gods, so I am obviously biased, but she was AMAZING. She truly is one of the greatest performers that we have currently. To give you an unbiased opinion: Lucy was not originally coming with me but stepped in at the last minute. She's not the biggest fan of Taylor, but in her words: 'What the best thing for was not only the songs, catchy although they are, but her songs weren't commercial. Her songs told us not what we wanted to hear but about the truth. People don't talk openly about how they've been bullied or heart broken and most of the time we're not open to listening about it or feel uncomfortable talking about it. She wasn't truing to be someone that other people want her to be. She was just writing the truth. Which is why I cried and I'm not even a hard core fan. [Apart from when Danny from the Script came on and I was a dribbling ship wreck.] Oh yes that's right, Danny O'Donahue also came on! They duetted Breakeven.

I had already seen Taylor on her Fearless tour in 2008/9 but honestly. No words could explain how amazing this was. She did the entire show (just under two hours) with no break; only 30 second costume changes.
The set list included Red, All Too Well (omg, I think I actually died inside at this one. The Grammy's performance youtube video did not do it justice), Treacherous, The Lucky One, 22, I Knew You Were Trouble, State of Grace, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together (the closing number; wow.), Mean, You Belong With Me and Sparks Fly.
